Dacula's 2050 plan tracks water work alongside sewer. Its second phase of water main replacement upsized six-inch pipes that failed fire-flow tests and enlarged the main on Dacula Road to ten inches. Future phases are meant to follow new fire-flow studies.↗
The same plan lists expanding water lines into parts of the existing city not yet served. Homes in those pockets may still run on private wells, and when a main arrives, the new service line from the meter to the house is the owner's job.↗↗
Longer term, the plan calls for a new reservoir along the Apalachee River to supplement the Chattahoochee, a sign of how fast east Gwinnett's demand is growing.↗
