New construction in Bostwick tends to fall into two camps. One is infill: a house on an empty lot inside the old residential grid south of Main Street, where lots are generous by modern standards. The other is a homestead on acreage split from a farm along SR 83 or the county roads around town.↗
The two camps have different constraints. Inside town, city water means no private well to keep away from, and the county plan's 0.6-acre septic minimum is the working number. Out on the farm roads, most buyers also drill a well, and the plan's figure rises to 1.2 acres.↗↗
Either way there is no sewer fallback. The system has to be designed right the first time because nothing else will take the house's wastewater.
