Decatur keeps building on old lots
Decatur has grown upward and inward rather than outward. The city is only 4.6 square miles, yet the census counts 2,145 homes built between 2010 and 2019 and another 316 since 2020. Almost all of that went onto lots that already had a house, a lateral and a tap.↗↗
