How we inspect a Loganville system
We start with records: the permit, the as-built drawing and any dated pump receipts. The bedroom count on the permit should match the listing. Many Loganville homes gained a finished basement or bonus room after closing, and Georgia sizes tanks by bedrooms, 1,000 gallons through four and 250 more for each one past that.↗

Can I find where the tank is before the inspection?
On the Gwinnett side, often yes: the county has posted digitized septic location records in its GIS since 2011. On the Walton side, request the file from Environmental Health.

Is a pumping receipt the same as an inspection?
No. It proves the tank was emptied, which Walton needs, but not whether the tees, distribution box and field are sound.

What if the inspection finds a failed field and sewer is nearby?
Georgia requires a failing system to connect when sewer is within 200 feet, and Loganville's residential connection fee is $4,500.
