Room to park is room to crush
Newborn's outlying residential land is laid out in large lots, and big yards invite use: a boat on a trailer, a camper for the season, a hay truck cutting across to the barn. When the field is under that traffic, the soil above the trenches gets pressed tight. State guidance is plain that driving or parking over the tank or field can damage both, and that the compaction cuts the soil's ability to absorb wastewater.↗↗
Newton's red clay makes this worse. Cecil and Pacolet subsoils already accept effluent slowly, so there is little spare capacity to lose. A field that was adequate when the house was new can start to struggle once vehicles use it as a parking pad.↗
Compacted soil does not loosen on its own, and crushed pipe cannot be cleaned. The repair is usually new trenches in fresh ground, plus a plan to keep vehicles off them this time.

A certified classifier writes a Level 3 soil report for the new field area, unless an approved one is already on file.↗
