The crossroads map unit is eroded Cecil sandy clay loam on gentle slopes. The good news for a new install is in the series profile: Cecil is well drained, with the seasonal water table and bedrock both deeper than 60 inches. The catch is the subsoil, a red clay that moves water at a moderate pace, so trench length is sized to the slower layer, not the sandy surface.↗↗
